Acrylic painting of a Dressage horse portrait. The painting is from my Mottled Horses series that is inspired by beautiful and powerful animals- horses.
The painting represent a horse’s mirage–like portrait, where the subject is composed of colorful abstract elements.
I used colors and textures to show mood and commotion of the surrounding that contrast with the majestic body of the horse. Realistic eye was painted to express and liveness of the gentle giant.
Also, the translucent images in background were used to suggest movement and a story rather than represent a still horse portrait.
